Keith Martin MD FACOG

Dr Keith Martin is a board-certified ob/gyn, practicing in his specialty since 1988. He opened Highland Women’s Care in 2002 with the idea of providing personalized care in a professional environment. Due to the very high standards he has set, Dr. Martin has made this goal reality. He is well known for his tactful bed-side manner and exceptional patient rapport. Strongly believing that education is a large part of a patient’s care, he will always spend the time needed to counsel patients and answer any questions they may have. Dr. Martin’s strong passion for the field is continually leading him to discovering advanced technology to help insure the well being of his patients. In addition to his continuing education, he is active in numerous organizations.

Sara Smith APN/CNP

Sara is our very talented nurse practitioner. In 1996 she earned her RN degree. After working in various settings, Sara fell in love with obstetrics, and worked as an OB nurse for several years. Sara joined the Highland Women's Care team in 2002 after continuing her education, and earning her APN (Advanced Practical Nurse) degree in the women’s health care field. Her honest, straight-forward approach is only shadowed by her warm personality and heartfelt patient-provider relationships. Sara is extremely gifted and sets the standard for what a Nurse Practitioner should be. She provides complete gynecologic care including Pap smears, breast exams and acute problems. Sara is also a compassionate provider for our moms-to-be during their obstetric care.

Dawn Business Manager

Dawn received her Bachelor of Science degree from ISU in 1995. Her prior business and finance experience is a compliment to her position as HWC’s Business Manager. She has been a part of the Highland Women's Care family since June 2005. Dawn is always there to lend an ear or a helping hand to manage any aspect of your relationship with HWC.

Sandi Registered Nurse

Sandi acquired her RN degree in 1979, and went on to earn her BSN from NIU in 2003. Sandi’s education and experience has given her a wealth of knowledge in the nursing field. She is there to answer any questions you may have with caring and confidence, instantly giving our patients the comfort they deserve. She has been a part of the Highland Women's Care team since June 2004.

Mary Registered Nurse

Mary graduated from the Freeport Memorial School of Nursing in 1979, and has been enjoying nursing in the Freeport area ever since. She was an OB/GYN nurse for 20 years before joining our staff in February 2006. Mary’s friendly, familiar style comforts all who walk through the doors of Highland Women's Care.

Stacy Ultrasound Technician

Stacy received her x-ray certification through the Rockford Memorial Hospital School of Radiography in 1995. She began ultrasound in January of 1997 and has since become a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS), specializing in obstetrics and gynecology. She has been with Highland Women's Care since its opening in 2002, and has been instrumental in directing the ultrasound department at HWC. Stacy adds a splash of flair to the staff of HWC with her enormous heart and bubbly personality.

Ashley Medical Assistant

Ashley is a Medical Assistant/Certified Phlebotomist with the Highland Women's Care family. Her excellent knowledge and unveiled sense of humor has been a welcome asset to HWC since April 2005.

Michelle Q Massage Therapist

Michelle is a Licensed Massage Therapist and a member of the AMTA (American Massage Therapy Association). She is the newest member of the HWC team, joining us in June 2006. She is available for massage therapy for men and women, prenatal massage and post partum massage therapy. Michelle also serves as a Medical Assistant/Certified Phlebotomist when she is not relaxing tired muscles. She has over 12 years hands on experience and loves working with expecting mothers. Michelle’s soothing hands and kind personality are a welcome addition to our family.

Julie Nutritionist

Julie worked as a Medical Assistant for Highland Women's Care since she began in July 2004. Begining in September 2006, she has taken on the role of our Weight Management Consultant. Julie is full of energy, and will continually greet you with a smile. She is always willing to take time out to talk with you to assist you in a program to make yourself a healthier you

Linda Insurance/Billing

Linda graduated in 1969 from NIU. She holds both a BSN and RN degree, and has worked in the medical profession for over 30 years in a variety of roles; the majority of which have been in Freeport. Linda works in our insurance/billing department, and has an incredible amount of knowledge and experience in the field. Linda is kind and caring and always willing to take the time to assist you with your insurance needs and questions. Highland Women's Care is pleased to have had Linda on staff since its opening in 2002.

Michelle J Insurance/Billing

Michelle graduated from Michigan State University in 1982 with a Bachelor’s degree. To further her education, in January of 2005, Michelle acquired her CPC (Certified Professional Medical Coder) certification. Working in our insurance/billing department since March 2005, Michelle uses her vast coding/insurance knowledge along with her kind nature to ease patient’s billing quandaries and assist them with any questions they may have.

Cori Receptionist

Cori has been one of our front office staff since March 2003. Her 5 years prior medical office experience certainly shines at Highland Women’s Care. You will quickly get to know her joyful voice and smiling face in the patient waiting area as you check in for your visit with us.

Pam Receptionist

Pam has been one of our front office staff since July 2004. She has several years of past experience in the medical office setting and we are so happy to have her here with us. Her great sense of humor and upbeat personality will welcome you as you walk through the front door.
